Vineyard and wine merchant launch luxury hamper

Oastbrook Estate and Hawkins Brothers partner to create indulgent hamper to celebrate special occasions in lockdown

Oastbrook Estate vineyard in Robertsbridge, Sussex, and Hawkins Brothers Fine English Wines in Milford, Surrey, have joined forces to share a taste of English springtime with food and wine lovers during lockdown.

America Brewer, owner and winemaker at Oastbrook, the idyllic vineyard retreat near Bodiam Castle, in the heart of Sussex, has partnered with Simon and James Hawkins to put together a special wine and cheese hamper – perfect for celebrating a birthday or anniversary at home, or simply for a little lockdown luxury.

The hamper contains a bottle of the limited release Oastbrook Sparkling Rosé 2014 – an unusual blend of Auxerrois and Pinot Noir which picked up four awards in 2019 and is the estate’s first sparkling rosé – Godminster Vintage Organic Cheddar and two bunches of Secrett’s of Milford asparagus.

America, who bought the Oastbrook Estate – formerly a Guinness hope farm – with her partner Nick in 2013, comments: “Right now, we can’t welcome people to visit Oastbrook but by pulling together we can invite everyone to enjoy exceptional wines and cook up something simple and wonderful like an asparagus quiche or a baked cheese or a creamy risotto.”

Now that sounds like a great plan!

The Oastbrook Hamper is available from Hawkins Brothers, priced £55 (+ £9.50 postage), while all purchases of wine from Oastbrook Estate’s online shop will receive a 10% discount with a further 5% donation made to East Sussex charity, The Friends Of Conquest Hospital.
